The Crossroads Program is a collaboration between Washoe County Social Services (WCSS) and Catholic
Charities of Northern Nevada that began in January of 2011. The program provides a supportive living
arrangement for men and women transitioning out of homelessness. Clients in the program are given a

The CATCH program - Charitable Assistance To Community's Homeless in Boise and Caldwell- primarily assists homeless families with children younger than 18. The program is also available to young adults, ages 18 to 22, who are aging out of foster care.
**How CATCH program works? - The case manager will work with four shelters (Hope's Door, Lighthouse Rescue Mission, Salvation Army and Valley Crisis), as well as with WICAP, to receive referrals for families that meet the program qualifications. Once a family is determined to be eligible, that family will sign a lease directly with a landlord and CATCH of Canyon County will pay the rent, with funds donated by businesses, faith-based organizations, private individuals and stimulus dollars.

Project PATCH is passionately committed to restoring troubled youth and building stronger families.Project PATCH Youth Ranch, is a licensed residential youth treatment facility. We are licensed to accommodate up to forty residents between twelve and seventeen years old. Our thirty-nine dedicated staff members include five professional counselors and two teachers. PATCHs mission is centered on helping at-risk youth find a better way to live their lives with hope for the future.The six elements of the Project PATCH Program are Therapy Licensed counselors facilitate group, individual and family counseling. Peers hold each other accountable for behaviors and challenge each other to make better choices. Wilderness This supervised camping with periods of silence, exercise and survival skills provides an excellent way to break through to residents not responding to campus life. Spiritual focus PATCH has a Christian staff and a chaplain who coordinates worship times, bible classes and other spiritual activities. Education Two teachers facilitate highly individualized preparation for higher learning through independent study. They work to bring youth whove fallen behind up to an age appropriate grade level. Recreation Indoor & outdoor recreation includes gym and field sports, auto body shop, wood shop, rafting, camping, music, crafts and games. Community Service Volunteerism teaches young people to focus on the needs of others and exposes them to the joy of giving. Some activities are invalid visits, Christmas boxes, and clean-up projects.

Established in 1971, the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Recreation Program is to improve the health and
well-being of its members and families through new and established recreation activities, sports and
community events and ensuring participants a safe and secure facility with a knowledgeable staff.
In 2002, the Recreation Department expanded its facilities through the addition of the Hungry Valley
Recreations Center. Tribal members, residents and authorized guests can enjoy the television room, the
lounge, a game room, the gymnasium, a mirrored exercise room and a weight room with treadmills and
elliptical machines, plus there are three rooms available for public use, i.e., meetings, birthday parties,
receptions, etc.
At 34 Reservation Road, the facility underwent major renovations to expand the space to include a
designated game room, television room, lobby, a small kitchen and new basketball goals for the
gymnasium.

Step 1 provides supportive transitional housing to low or no income, adult men in northern Nevada.
These men, who often become homeless as a result of their substance abuse issues and associated
criminal behaviors, but demonstrate a strong desire to change their lives, are provided an opportunity
for growth and change at Step 1.
Many of the men requesting supportive housing at Step 1 enter the program directly from incarceration,
the streets, area treatment centers, the court system and concerned family members.
The Model
The model of supportive transitional housing provided by Step 1 is clinically proven and unique to
northern Nevada. Structured transitional housing, combined with ASAM Level 1 Outpatient Substance
Abuse Counseling and peer-to- peer mentoring creates an environment for promoting responsible, pro-
social values.
Counseling
Each client receives substance abuse counseling to not only deal with addiction issues, but paramount is
the ability for each client to learn how to become self-sufficient so that they can re-integrate back into
the local community.
