Homeless families in Ada, Canyon, and Twin Falls counties are referred by local, emergency homeless shelters. Upon acceptance into the program, families are immediately moved into a housing unit (typically an apartment with a lease in their name) and provided basic household furnishings. If not already working, adults are given up to sixty days to find employment and are provided a wealth of community resources. The ultimate goal for families is self sufficiency, and participants are expected to pay their own rent within six months. Approximately 86% of homeless families served are able to pay their own rent within six months.
Local businesses and congregations of faith agree to sponsor a participating family’s rent for up to six months. Leases are signed between the family and landlord, and typically range in market value between $500-$800 per month, depending on the size of the unit needed.

Felon Friendly Temp Services List
Many temp agencies hire felons/ex-felons for a number of different jobs and career paths. We do not know of any good temp agencies that hire only felons but we have found that almost all do offer positions to felons. In order to find a job you will have to search through the list of temp agencies below.
Why temp agencies are a good choice for felons
Some of the advantages of temp agencies for felons is that it allows you to view and apply for a large number of jobs at one time. The sheer quantity of jobs that you apply for increases your chances of finding a felon friendly employer.
Another good thing is that most agencies have a very wide array of work and companies they can offer to you. Some industries have a zero tolerance policy for felons while other industries like construction are much more apt to hire a felon.

Connecting People With the Help They Need
- Though it is not a requirement to receive information about available resources, the client is asked to provide a name, address and telephone number, information pertinent to their problem - ie: landlord's name and number. They are asked what type of support they are currently receiving - ie: H&W, WIC, energy assistance, child care, whether they have family, friends or a church that can help.
- After all this information has been gathered, the client is referred to all social services for which they qualify. They are provided with phone number and name of a contact person and also informed about special requirements or documents they might need. With 3-way calling, the volunteer can place the call for them and stay on the line to make sure they reach someone who can help.
- All TVCRC volunteers have community contacts that can be tapped when needed. The volunteers may phone personal contacts for special assistance when the situation seems to warrant it, while still respecting the client's right to privacy.
- TVCRC trained volunteers focus on using the human touch to assist each client in a caring, friendly, effective manner with up-to-date information and the experience to guide the client through the maze of human services.
