Services
Adoption/Pregnancy
Catholic Charities Adoption Services has been providing adoption services since 1941. Through ethics and leadership, Adoption Services
compassionately serves children throughout their lives by guiding, educating and empowering birth families, adoptive families and the community.
Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada has provided adoption services since 1941 and facilitates approximately 20-25 adoption plans each year. We are here to assist anyone considering adoption for their child to learn more about the adoption process and if this will be the right choice for you. We recognize this can be a difficult time and are here to offer support and guidance as you explore your options. Catholic Charities prides ourselves in our ethical, caring services we provide to all clients. We believe making an adoption plan for child is a very loving and selfless decision.
In the state of Nevada, parents cannot sign any paperwork consenting to an adoption before their child is at least 72 hours old. This means all work done during the pregnancy and immediately following the birth of the child is part of the planning process and is not legally binding. Prior to signing consent paperwork, a birthparent may choose to parent their child at any time.
Catholic Charities offers individualized, custom adoption plans. These plans are created by birth parents with the assistance of an adoption social worker. We also offer a monthly support group for birth parents as well as expectant parents considering adoption for their child. We have three full-time social workers, one of which is dedicated to working with expectant and birth parents. For more information visit: http://www.catholiccharities.com/adoption-pregnant/

Retail Services Closure
For several years, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada has been operating resale thrift stores providing the community with reasonably priced clothing and household goods. Taking a thoughtful look at our mission and operations, we have determined that it is in the best interest of those we serve to close our distribution center and two retail locations, one on Eastern Avenue and Tropicana Avenue and the other on Rainbow Boulevard and Charleston Boulevard.
We endeavor to always be wise and effective stewards of our resources as we provide for our community’s most vulnerable. Amid the current landscape of the competitive Las Vegas retail market, closing our thrift stores allows our agency to focus on our core mission of providing food, shelter, and comprehensive services to more than 100,000 clients each year.
With that being said, we cannot serve this great number of our community’s most vulnerable without your help: we continue to rely on food and donation drives, financial support, and the gift of volunteer service. Thank you for all you do to give help and hope to people in need.
How To Get Involved
There are many ways you can help support the mission of Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. Whether it’s a financial contribution, Organizing a donation drive, or volunteering your time, we greatly appreciate your help. Together we can make a difference in the lives of thousands of men, women and children in southern Nevada.

Here’s what companies say:
Our business has grown steadily in Clark County in spite of this prolonged recession. In 2010, our decision to locate here was because we would be seen as a big fish in a little pond as opposed to California where we would be a little fish in the ocean. It's all about location. Southern Nevada is an important emerging market in which to do business, especially in the technology sector. The region has an extremely low instance of natural disasters, great accessibility to high-speed Internet connections, and the dry and mild climate makes cooling efficient and inexpensive. Clark County is an up-and-coming technology center, and a natural fit for any company to seriously consider.
The UNLV National Supercomputing Center enhances Southern Nevada's U.S. business competitiveness as a primary gateway for medical, energy and scientific data flow from coast-to-coast and markets abroad. Southern Nevada is the ideal setting for this facility, considered a "safe-zone" from natural disasters and having a highly sophisticated power grid in a rapidly growing market.
Cord Blood America, Inc. relocated from Southern California to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2009 for two key reasons, transportation and tax advantage. Our business depends on airports for movement of our products and convenient access to McCarran from our facility provided us with the assurance that we needed to maintain continuity to our service offering. As important was the tax structure and regulatory environment which were more advantageous that what we experienced in California, and factored heavily into our decision to be here.

The County is known for its strong ending-fund balance, overall financial strength and an investment-quality credit rating. Incorporated & Unincorporated Areas
As a “city” government, Clark County responds to the needs of about 952,000 residents in the urban unincorporated areas. Sahara Avenue, which crosses the Strip on the north side of the Sahara Hotel & Casino, is the municipal boundary for the City of Las Vegas. Those residing south of this line receive their traditional urban services from Clark County rather than from any of the County’s five cities: Las Vegas (pop. 640,174), Henderson (pop. 299,279), North Las Vegas (244,793), Boulder City (pop. 16,570) and Mesquite (pop. 20,325). The services provided there include all those functions normally associated with a city, such as public works, building inspections, fire protection, parks and recreation, etc. View a jurisdictional map of significant destinations such as Downtown Summerlin, the Las Vegas Convention Center and Sam Boyd Stadium within the Clark County-Las Vegas Valley area.

Programs That Help
Adult Rehabilitation Program
For over 100 years, The Salvation Army has been providing assistance to people with a variety of physical and social afflictions through its United States based Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs).
Adult Rehabilitation Centers began in 1881 when William Booth - founder of The Salvation Army - opened shelters for homeless people on the streets of London, England. His initiative quickly spread to the United States, and to this day, people come to us with issues of substance abuse, legal problems, relational conflicts, homelessness, unemployment and a need for spiritual awakening and restoration.
Drug and alcohol addiction are among the country's most destructive social problems, and The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers comprise the largest residential rehabilitation program in the United States. This comprehensive program is free to the public and financed through our well known Salvation Army Thrift Stores.
Adult Rehabilitation Centers are probably the most widely known of all The Salvation Army services. They provide long term, social model, and residential recovery programs for individuals seeking to deal with substance abuse and other addictions. They seek to help participants regain self-worth, learn how to build an orderly and disciplined life and become contributing members of society. Each program participant is provided with a clean and healthy living environment, nutritious food, group and individual counseling, spiritual direction, work therapy assignments and recreational activities.
Emergency Disaster Services
The Salvation Army has been responding to major disasters in the United States since the devastating hurricane experienced by Galveston, Texas in 1900. Since then, The Salvation Army is usually one of the first on the scene and the last to leave. While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army's disaster program consists of several basic services. And while these services address many of the typical needs of a disaster survivor, Salvation Army disaster relief is also flexible. Our services are adapted to the specific needs of individuals and communities and salable according to the magnitude of the disaster.

Our Mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
SEEDS of Hope (Saving, Empowering, Educating, and restoring DreamS to lives shattered by human trafficking)
The Salvation Army firmly believes that the abuse and exploitation of human beings through any form of human trafficking is an offense against humankind and against God. We work vigilantly for the prevention of human trafficking and for the restoration of survivors. Give if you can to SEEDS of Hope.
The SEEDS of Hope program works in collaboration with local law enforcement, FBI, ICE and numerous community service providers to identify, rescue, and restore victims of all forms of human trafficking.
Las Vegas has been identified by a Justice Department risk analysis study as one of 17 cities nationwide most likely to be the top destinations for trafficking victims. Everyday in our valley, SEEDS of Hope works with both foreign and domestic victims of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Through our comprehensive case management services we can provide emergency shelter, transportation, clothing, food, victim advocacy, crises intervention and safety planning, medical and dental care, derivative family member benefits, mental health counseling, employment assistance, legal referrals, substance abuse treatment, access to child care, and other service recommendations.
We take a holistic approach to the clients' needs and challenges in order to help them move from victimization to self sufficiency. SEEDS of Hope, like all of The Salvation Army's programs and services, are made possible with the support of the community we serve. Please take a moment to pray for those who are victims of modern day slavery.
