FRIENDSHIP FOOD PANTRY
The Friendship Food Pantry is open to anyone who needs food. It is open on Mondays from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Entrance to the Food Pantry is through the door at the rear of the church, off of the alley. There are signs to show the way.
The Friendship food Pantry began serving the Treasure Valley community in January 2010. We are committed to our partner agencies including the Idaho Foodbank Warehouse and El Ada Community Action of Garden City. They have provided us with 90% of our food supply to date creating a minimal cost operation for the FFP.
We are ALWAYS IN NEED of the basics: peanut butter, tuna fish, saltines, canned fruit, canned vegetables, and soup. Thank you always for your support and your donations. We so appreciate your generosity. To be part of this group or to learn more about it, contact Sara Williams or Peggy/Paul Bohl through the church office.

C.A.T.C.H. Charitable Assistance To Community's Homeless
We are blessed to have the opportunity to partner with C.A.T.C.H to reach those in need. The organization helps place people in homes and assigns a case manager to help them build a more stable life for themselves. The program has been remarkably successful and boasts an 85-90% successful graduation rate.
First Presbyterian Church supports C.A.T.C.H. through the generous donations of parishioners. We currently work with two families per six month period. Since 2006 have helped over 13 families (including 27 children) and are currently supporting a family of three. We would love to expand our mission in this area and encourage you to make a pledge to C.A.T.C.H though First Presbyterian Church.

Services
Adoption/Pregnancy
Catholic Charities Adoption Services has been providing adoption services since 1941. Through ethics and leadership, Adoption Services
compassionately serves children throughout their lives by guiding, educating and empowering birth families, adoptive families and the community.
Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada has provided adoption services since 1941 and facilitates approximately 20-25 adoption plans each year. We are here to assist anyone considering adoption for their child to learn more about the adoption process and if this will be the right choice for you. We recognize this can be a difficult time and are here to offer support and guidance as you explore your options. Catholic Charities prides ourselves in our ethical, caring services we provide to all clients. We believe making an adoption plan for child is a very loving and selfless decision.
In the state of Nevada, parents cannot sign any paperwork consenting to an adoption before their child is at least 72 hours old. This means all work done during the pregnancy and immediately following the birth of the child is part of the planning process and is not legally binding. Prior to signing consent paperwork, a birthparent may choose to parent their child at any time.
Catholic Charities offers individualized, custom adoption plans. These plans are created by birth parents with the assistance of an adoption social worker. We also offer a monthly support group for birth parents as well as expectant parents considering adoption for their child. We have three full-time social workers, one of which is dedicated to working with expectant and birth parents. For more information visit: http://www.catholiccharities.com/adoption-pregnant/

Retail Services Closure
For several years, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada has been operating resale thrift stores providing the community with reasonably priced clothing and household goods. Taking a thoughtful look at our mission and operations, we have determined that it is in the best interest of those we serve to close our distribution center and two retail locations, one on Eastern Avenue and Tropicana Avenue and the other on Rainbow Boulevard and Charleston Boulevard.
We endeavor to always be wise and effective stewards of our resources as we provide for our community’s most vulnerable. Amid the current landscape of the competitive Las Vegas retail market, closing our thrift stores allows our agency to focus on our core mission of providing food, shelter, and comprehensive services to more than 100,000 clients each year.
With that being said, we cannot serve this great number of our community’s most vulnerable without your help: we continue to rely on food and donation drives, financial support, and the gift of volunteer service. Thank you for all you do to give help and hope to people in need.
