Abbot Campground
There are 7 sites for camping, each offers a picnic table and fire ring with attached grill. The road and driveways are gravel. Campsite 1 is at the entrance and offers no privacy. Sites 2 and 3 have long driveways and are set next to the river. Sites 4 and 5 are at the end of that loop and are nearest to the bridge that crosses the river and offers access to trails to the south. 6 is also near the entrance and offers the most sun. Site 7 is at the east end of the campground, has an extra large picnic table and offers the most privacy except the road runs near it.
Ahsahka Access
Ahsahka Access Site Campground is an undeveloped campground along the Clearwater River with a boat launch and an outhouse. There is a 30 day stay limit which is longer than most campgrounds. We observed that it looked like some of the campers had been there a while. There is a sign reminding you not to remove any artifacts or relics of any kind.
Allison Creek Picnic and Camping
Allison Creek Picnic Area is a picnic area along the Salmon River just down from Spring Bar Campground. It has 3 picnic areas with a restroom, (one with) cement sidewalks, tables and barbecue stands. A very scenic area with nearby camping. Campsites: You can camp just across Allison Creek where there is big open area where campers have camped with rock fire rings. No restrooms or tables in this area. There are also various off road areas for camping along Allison Creek Rd and Salmon River Rd.
Alpine Campground
Alpine Campground is located on some gently rolling hills on the northeast shore of Palisades Reservoir near Alpine, Wyoming. It sets in a mature forest and most campsites have some shade and the underbrush provides some level of privacy. It was very busy, we had to go elsewhere to find a campsite for the night even though we were there on a Wednesday in July. Campsites: There are 16 campsites in the main campground. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit with attached grate. The road and driveways are gravel. There are 3 group sites, Loop A, B and C. A is one large central site, B has several individual sites and a central table area while C is made up of several rather old individual sites.
Alturas Lake Inlet Campground
Alturas Lake Inlet Campground is set beside Alturas Lake Creek as it empties into Alturas Lake. The water in this lake is beautiful, clear and blue. The lake is on the east side of the Sawtooth Mountains and is in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The Sawtooth and nearby White Cloud Mountains are nationally known for their beauty and the backpacking opportunities. I still marvel at how beautiful this area is each time I look through my pictures. I look forward to our next visit. Campsites: There are 27 RV camping sites, with 40 foot driveways. Each has a picnic table and fire ring. 6 camping sites are double sites allowing for up to 16 persons each. Since this is a level area, it shouldn't be a problem to find a soft spot to pitch a tent in most of the camping sites. The picnic/day use area is situated along the shoreline of the lake. The boat ramp is located at Smokey Bear Campground. The campground host is located in the first site in this campground.

Antelope Campground & Annex Group sites
Antelope Campground and Antelope Annex sites are both located on the shores of the scenic Sage Hen Reservoir in the Boise National Forest, perched at an elevation of 4,800 feet. Visitors enjoy boating, fishing and exploring the Sage Hen Reservoir Trail. The 5 Sage Hen campgrounds are a beautiful, scenic destination for recreation and adventure.
Apgar Campground
There 7 Tent / RV camping sites. The sites on the river are shorter and could not handle an RV of size, but the ones closer to the highway are longer. Location/Driving instructions: From Kooskia, Idaho, travel east on US Hwy 12 for 29.0 miles, 7.4 miles past Lowell. Apgar Campground is on the right side on the river.
Bad Bear Campground
Bad Bear Campground is located 48 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho, in a scenic Ponderosa pine forest along State Highway 21 at an elevation of 5,100 feet. Wildlife and summer wildflowers are abundant. Historic Idaho City is just 11 miles south. Mores Creek runs adjacent to the site, offering whitefish and rainbow trout fishing.

This family campground is located in the San Bernardino mountains. Serrano is located on the north side of Big Bear Lake, 2 miles east of Fawnskin. There are 93 single sites and 16 double sites. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking, boating and fishing. Amenities and services include camp host, comfort station, dump station, RV hookups, fire rings, firewood sales, interpretive programs, interpretive trails, picnic tables, showers and restrooms. Castle Creek Campground is located on the west shore of Anderson Ranch Reservoir. It is accessed from State Highway 20.
Directions: From Mountain Home, Idaho, travel north 21 miles along State Highway 20 to the Forest Service (FS) road 134 road turnoff. Travel north along the FS road 134 toward Anderson Ranch Dam approximately 6 miles. At the Dam, turn right onto FS road 120 and travel north following along the Reservoir. Go past the Evans Creek Campground and continue approximately 4 miles to the Castle Creek Campground.There is also another route if preferred. This route has more paved road and is less narrow.From Mountain Home, Idaho, travel along State Highway 20 for 32 miles to Forest Highway 61. Proceed along Highway 61 approximately 18 miles to Pine, Idaho.From the intersection at Pine, turn south on FS road 128 and continue until you get to the junction of FS road 113. Travel a few miles west to the FS road 120 junction. Turn south at the junction and travel 1 miles along FS road 120 to Castle Creek Campground.

Eastside Campground is a group campground located on the shores of the scenic Sage Hen Reservoir in the Boise National Forest, perched at an elevation of 4,800 feet.
Directions: From Boise, Idaho, travel north on State Highway 55 to Horseshoe Bend, Idaho approximately 30 miles. At Horseshoe Bend, turn west and travel State Highway 52 for 9 miles to the junction with the Sweet/Ola Highway. Then turn north and travel 16 miles to Ola, Idaho. From Ola, continue 10 miles northeast on Forest Service (FS) Road 618, then 7 miles on FS Road 626. Lastly, travel approximately 2 miles northeast on FS Road 614 and you will arrive at Sage Hen Reservoir.Eastside Campground is on the east side of the reservoir. Campgrounds circle the lake and are easy to find after arriving at the reservoir.

Cleghorn is a scenic road with spectacular mountain views. This dirt fire road is well maintained and suitable for most small SUV's. 4-wheel drive is recommended for snow or rain conditions. For better equipped 4x4's, Cleghorn has 2nd more technical trail that runs alongside and intersects with the main fire road. Start from Cleghorn / Cajon road exit off the Interstate 15 and head East towards 138. Good for 4x4, ATV and Motorcycles.

Lakeview Campground
Location/Driving instructions: From Stanley, Idaho, follow Hwy 21 west 4.6 miles. Turn left onto Stanley Lake Rd. Travel 3 miles on Stanley Lake Rd to the Stanley Lake / Lakeview Campground entrance. Or from Boise, Idaho, follow Hwy 21 northeast for 118 miles, turning right on to Stanley Lake Rd. It is 3 miles to the campground entrance.
Lava Creek Campground
Lava Creek Campground is located on Magic Reservoir across a bay from West Magic, Idaho. It is along the shore and offers good access to the lake. The area is open sagebrush covered country with few trees. It is very hot and dry during the summer, so come prepared for the heat. Location/Driving instructions: From Twin Falls, Idaho, take Hwy 93 north to Shoshone, Idaho, (26.2 miles) where you will make a slight left onto Hwy 75 north. Follow Hwy 75 for 18.3 miles to the Cottonwoods Rd / W. Magic Rd. It is another 10.2 miles to Lava Creek Campground.
Lava Point Campground
Location/Driving instructions: From Twin Falls, Idaho, travel north on Hwy 93 to Shoshone, Idaho, where Hwy 93 turns to the NE. You will continue north on Hwy 75 for another 18.3 miles to Cottonwood Road.
Leggett Creek Campground
Location/Driving instructions: From Grangeville, Idaho, take Main St S. to Mt Idaho Rd to Mt Idaho Grade Rd (0.2 miles). In 2.4 miles you will need to stay left on Mt. Idaho Grade Rd and follow it to Hwy 14 (7.0 miles). Continue onto Hwy 14 to the south and east for 27.3 miles to Leggett Creek Campground which will be on your left.
Lightning Creek
There are no tables, fire pits or barbecue stands. Great river access and a place to park your tent or RV make this campground the perfect haven for the serious fisherman. Location/Driving instructions: Lightning Creek Sportsman Access is on Highway 95, three to four miles north of Riggins on the Salmon River side of the highway.

Sage Hen Dam Picnic Area
At Horseshoe Bend, turn west and travel State Highway 52 for 9 miles to the junction with the Sweet/Ola Highway. Then turn north and travel 16 miles to Ola, Idaho.
From Ola, continue 10 miles northeast on Forest Service (FS) Road 618, then 7 miles on FS Road 626.
Lastly, travel approximately 2 miles northeast on FS Road 614 and you will arrive at Sage Hen Reservoir.

Warm Lake is just a short distance away from the campground and visitors enjoy all the recreation opportunities that the lake has to offer in the day, while staying in a quiet setting for evening relaxation. Chipmunk Creek runs alongside the campground. Summer wildflowers and butterflies are abundant. There are lots of picnic and hiking opportunities. You may get a glimpse of variety of wildlife including bears, deer, elk, fox, grouse, eagles, osprey, grosbeaks, whooping cranes and otters, that live in the area.

Campground Details:
Sportsman's Park -- This beautiful 30-acre park is a multi-use area with facilities and activities for a variety of recreational uses. Situated adjacent to the American Falls Reservoir, it provides primary access to the lake for boaters and fishermen with two boat ramps. This park is a popular spot for ice fishermen in the winter. It is also a popular duck and goose hunting area. (Hunting is not allowed inside of the park) There are two large group shelters and eight smaller picnic shelters. There are two playgrounds, three restrooms, horseshoe pits and volleyball courts. Available are 23 fully contained sites, 5 sites with electric only and 8 tent sites. There is also an RV dump station available. There is a paved hiking/bicycle trail along the rim of the reservoir. The trailhead is at the park and is 1.1 miles long. Special features are two observation platforms with a pavilion and benches for users to observe the waterfowl.

Summit Lake Campground is a quiet retreat and a short distance from Warm Lake. The campground offers 3 campsites and the small but lovely Summit Lake is a treat. Visitors enjoy hiking around the lake in hopes of spotting the variety of wildlife including bears, deer, elk, fox, grouse, eagles, osprey, grosbeaks, and whooping cranes that live in the area.

Tailwaters Campground is accessed from State Highway 20. There are three campsites and plenty of opportunities to fish for trout and bass. The Campground is located on the west shore of Anderson Ranch Reservoir. The Tailwaters boat ramp is within the campground provides access for rafts, motorized and non-motorized boats. Be advised: There is an Elmore county ordinanace restricting any motorized equipment on the Lower South Fork Boise River.

Continue along FS 134 road for approximately 6 miles. When arriving at the Dam, turn south on FS 121 road and go south for about a mile to Tailwaters Campground.

Whoop Um Up Equestrian Campground
Whoop-um-up Equestrian Campground is located 56 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho, along State Highway 21, under a scenic pine forested canopy. There are six campsites complete with feed boxes, hitching posts and water for stock.
Willow Creek Campground
Willow Creek Campground is located along the Middle Fork of the Boise River Forest Service (FS) road 268 and the north end of the Arrowrock Reservior. There are 9 campsites at the campground. A stay at the campground enables guests to enjoy all the beauty and recreation offered along the river and reservoir. Weather is usually good from mid-May through late September and is easily accessible by car in good weather, although the road is sometimes rough and the drive can be seemingly long. Checking with the District on road conditions before heading out is recommended.
