Your therapist will only be working with you during your visit - something that allows him or her to pay attention to your individual needs and develop a custom rehabilitation plan created specifically for you. Our goal is to promote a caring, fun environment that encourages our patients to continue their progress, injury free, long past discharge from our services. Building Healthy Families

Baby Haven is an inspiring ministry provided by The Salvation Army in Caldwell. It is an incentive-based program for low income families who are either expecting a child or have a child under 24 months old. Baby Haven is not about giving handouts; rather, it is about changing lives by helping parents set goals that promote healthy families. For achieving these goals, the families are rewarded with resources for their infants like formula, diapers, clothing, etc. Baby Haven has special guests come in and teach on issues ranging from nutritional health to budgeting. They provide classes in both English and Spanish.

We offer a variety of classes for chronic disease survivors. The types of classes offered include physical movement-based awareness programs, creative workshops, cancer fitness fundamentals programs, cycling classes for women cancer survivors, and LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. We also offer the Diabetes Prevention Program, an evidence-based lifestyle change program to prevent type 2 diabetes. A year-long program that helps participants make real lifestyle changes such as eating healthier, including physical activity into their daily lives, and improving problem-solving and coping skills.

Since 1975, The Caldwell Meals On Wheels has been a non-profit corporation. The prinicpal purpose for which this corporation was formed is to promote the delivery of nutritious, low cost meals for the elderly and for other persons not able to provide meals for themselves. Idaho HOPE (Home Outreach Program for Empowerment) is a program in Boise which assists new participants with supported housing, supported employment, intensive crisis intervention, peer support services, and benefits assistance. The program assists adults who have been diagnosed with a mental illness meet their basic needs and improve their quality of life. Eligibility criteria include: minimal or no existing services, history and/or risk of hospitalization due to a mental illness, functional limitations, voluntary participation, no existing health insurance (including Medicare and Medicaid). Services are provided free of charge.

To promote the independent living philosophy for all Idahoans with disabilities: choice, self-determination, and access for all.

Bring an end to poverty, hunger, homeless, and the other deficiencies their society suffers from. They recognize with need, temporary or otherwise, May not meet eligibility requirements for local, state or federal assistance. They aim to fill that gap. Their goal is to raise awareness that the maximum poverty level recognized by authorities is too low, and to ensure that the important American citizen’s basic needs are being met.

Connecting People With the Help They Need

• Though it is not a requirement to receive information about available resources, the client is asked to provide a name, address and telephone number, information pertinent to their problem - ie: landlord's name and number. They are asked what type of support they are currently receiving - ie: H&W, WIC, energy assistance, child care, whether they have family, friends or a church that can help.
• After all this information has been gathered, the client is referred to all social services for which they qualify. They are provided with phone number and name of a contact person and also informed about special requirements or documents they might need. With 3-way calling, the volunteer can place the call for them and stay on the line to make sure they reach someone who can help.
• All TVCRC volunteers have community contacts that can be tapped when needed. The volunteers may phone personal contacts for special assistance when the situation seems to warrant it, while still respecting the client's right to privacy.
• TVCRC trained volunteers focus on using the human touch to assist each client in a caring, friendly, effective manner with up-to-date information and the experience to guide the client through the maze of human services.

A volunteer transportation service for seniors, Veterans, and those with disabilities.  It provides low cost transportation services to individuals in Ada and Canyon Counties.  All drivers are volunteers who volunteer their time and vehicles to help those with transportation needs. Service is limited to outside normal bus and ACCESS routes.  Cost is $3.00 per 8 miles of travel.  For more information contact David Pederson.

Ada & Canyon County. Senior high school students in the Boise School District can ride for free during the school year. Students, faculty & staff at Boise State University & The College of Western Idaho can ride Valleyride buses for free year-round with a valid ID. Monthly youth passes age 6–18 is $18, adult pass $36, persons with disabilities, seniors (age 65+) and valid Medicaid cardholders, pass is $18.

Individual fares are $0.50 for youth age 6–18, ages 5 & under is free, adults are $1.00, seniors (age 65+), persons with disabilities and valid Medicaid cardholders are $0.50.

Wheelchairs
The service is designed to complement ValleyRide's regular bus system. The service is available to people who are unable to utilize the bus system because of a disability. Eligibility may be limited on a conditional basis, and each trip can be reviewed.

ACCESS is an origin to destination transit service for the cities of Boise, Garden City, Nampa and Caldwell. The Boise/Garden City service operates Monday through Saturday with the same hours as the fixed-line bus system. There also is origin to destination paratransit service available in Nampa and Caldwell that operates Monday through Friday with the same hours as the fixed-line bus system.

Trips may be booked up to 14 days in advance, but no later than 5:00 p.m., for service the next operating day.

Euthanasia is necessary for severe medical illnesses or injuries, aggression toward people and/or animals, or when the animal's quality of life is rated as very poor.
